If you’re not seeing the account that you want to connect, getting error messages, or failing to connect your Instagram account to Statusbrew, here are some possible reasons and ways to fix them.
I) You need to update your Instagram account's connection with the Facebook Page
II) You’re trying to connect a Personal Profile
III) Your Instagram account is not connected to the right Facebook Page
IV) You have not enabled all the permissions for Statusbrew
V) You do not have Full Control Access for the Instagram Account you’re trying to connect
Understanding and solving these issues
Do you see a Review Connection error?
The connection between your Instagram account and your Facebook Page enables all of the features shared across them, but it can get severed in case of any changes made for eg - password change, admin change, etc.
To connect your Instagram account with Statusbrew, you first need to review and reinstate the connection between your Instagram account and your Facebook Page.
Requirements to Review and Update Connection
- You must have Full Control Access of the Facebook Page
- You need the login credentials of your Instagram Account
Steps to Review and Update Your Instagram Connection
- Open your Facebook Page
- Go to Settings
- Open Linked Accounts
- Click on Instagram
- If you have a connected Instagram account, and its connection needs updating, you will see a notice to Review Account Connection
- Click on Review Connection
- Follow the prompts to review and update your connection
Is your Instagram profile a Business account?
If you’re trying to connect a personal profile, you won’t be able to do that because Statusbrew only supports connection to Instagram Professional Accounts (Business Accounts). Hence if it’s not a professional account, you’ll have to convert it into a professional account.
Steps to Convert Your Instagram Personal Profile to Business Account
- Go to your profile and click on Edit Profile
- Click on Switch to professional account
- Now, follow the prompts and click Continue on each step
- Choose the option that best describes your business and click Done
- Now you’ll get a dialog box confirming - ‘Switch to a professional account?’
- Select OK
- You'll get an option to choose between Creator and Business. Choose Business and tap Next (Statusbrew does not support Instagram Creator Mode as of now)
- Choose if you want to receive promotional emails or not and tap Next
- Fill up your Business Contact Information and tap Next
- Now, you’ll have to connect this professional account to a Facebook Page
- Log in to your Facebook Profile
- Choose to add account to Meta Accounts Center
- Select the Facebook page you want to connect your account to (It is recommended to connect your business account to a Facebook Page that is associated with your business. This will let you use all of the features available for businesses.)
- Tap Done once all the steps for connecting the Facebook page are done
- Now fill in your business details and set up your professional account by following the prompts
NOTE: Only one Facebook page can be connected to your Instagram Account
Is your Instagram Business account connected to the right Facebook Page?
You must confirm if you connected your Instagram to the right Facebook page. While the setting may show as connected on Facebook, you should still choose to verify the connection from Instagram’s end as well.
To verify and connect the correct Facebook page -
- From your profile, click on the Edit Profile option
- Go to the Public Business Information section and check the name of the Page connected
- If the correct page is not connected, tap on the page
- Now click on Change or create page
- A list of Facebook Pages will open
- Choose the desired page and click on Done
Have you enabled all the access permissions for Statusbrew?
Enabling permissions for Statusbrew is essential to allow the platform to fetch the data and perform tasks for social media management. By granting permissions to Statusbrew, you allow the platform to access your Facebook Page data, manage posts, comments, and messages, and gather insights to help you optimize your social media management.
Without the required permissions, Statusbrew may not be able to fully integrate with your Facebook Page, which can cause connection or operational issues.
Note:
- Statusbrew will never publish anything to any of your social pages aside from the content you publish using Statusbrew yourself.
- Please do not uncheck any box and enable ALL the permissions.
- It is absolutely safe to enable all the permissions for Statusbrew, all your data is secure.
How to enable all the permissions for Statusbrew?
Curious about how to manage your Facebook Business Integrations?
Follow these steps to review and enable all the necessary permissions for Statusbrew, ensuring a seamless connection between your Facebook page and our platform -
- Log in to your Facebook Business account and go to the Business Integrations section (Log in > Click on your profile in the top right corner > Settings & Privacy > Settings > Business Integrations in the left nav) (Note - If you see an option saying ‘Switch Profile’ - click that to switch the profile)
- Now go to Statusbrew and click on View and edit
- In the dialog box that opens, ensure you have enabled all the permissions
- Make sure you enable permissions for all the pages that you want to connect to Statusbrew)
- Click on Save to update the Settings
Do you have Full access permission for the Facebook Page connected to your Instagram Account?
In order to connect your profile to Statusbrew, you must have Full Control access in Facebook Business Manager. To check this, go to People in Facebook Business Settings and check all the users added under People and their access permissions over here. If you’re not added here or you have partial access, contact the Page Owner or someone with full access to help in connecting the profile to Statusbrew.
You must have full control access control in the Facebook Business Manager for the account that you’re trying to connect. Full control access is essential for integrating your Instagram Business Account with third-party tools like Statusbrew. It requires certain crucial permissions to collect and utilize social media data for effective management.
If you don't have the necessary access, don't worry! You can simply reach out to someone who has Full Control access and request their assistance in connecting your page to Statusbrew.
How to check the access level?
You can easily check your access level by following these simple steps -
- Navigate to the People section in Facebook Business Settings
- Now you can see all the added users and their Business Account Access
- Review your access permissions over here
- In case of partial access, you won’t be able to see the details for others but you can open your details
- Click on your name and view your details. Check if you have full access for the relevant pages that you’re trying to connect.
If you notice that you don’t have the necessary access, don’t worry. Reach out to the Page Owner or someone with full access and ask for their help in connecting your account to Statusbrew.
If you’re not able to see the below-shown page for your Organization, then you must not have been added over here. In this case, you can ask someone with Full Control to add you.
How to Add A New User in Facebook Business Settings?
If you are not listed in the People Section in Facebook Business Settings, a user with Full Control access can add you by following these simple steps -
- Navigate to the People section in Facebook Business Settings
- Click on the Add People Button beside the search bar
- Enter the email address of the user and click Next
- Now, by default, partial access is given, but it can be upgraded to full control
- Scroll down to the Full Control section, click on the drop-down and change None to Manage
- In the Assign Business Assets window, select the pages you want the user to have access to
- For each page, you can determine partial or full access
- Once you’ve reviewed the invitation, click on Send Request
How to Update the access of existing users?
In case of an existing user with insufficient permissions, a user with full control can upgrade their access by following these steps -
- Navigate to the People section in Facebook Business Settings
- Now you can see all the added users and their Business Account Access
- Click on the name of the user (for whom you want to upgrade the access), and a detailed window showing the current level of access will open
- Now you have two options to upgrade the access - (i) you can either provide full control access for the Business account (automatically gives access for all the connected Facebook pages and Instagram accounts) or (ii) for specific Facebook Page
- Click on the Manage button and upgrade the access permissions to Full Control
- Click on the Save button to save the changes
